Atout France, in partnership with The MICE Blog, has launched a new social media campaign promoting France as the perfect destination for incentive travel and international meetings and events. The campaign aims to highlight the expertise of Atout France and its partners in assisting event planners to access the variety of destinations and activities France has to offer international event planners.
The new campaign, entitled #BizInFrance, will run in the months running up to IMEX Frankfurt 2017 in May, at which Atout France will be exhibiting with their destination partners. Attracting 3,500 visitors per year IMEX is a great platform for Atout France to promote France as a meeting destination to an international audience. The MICE Blog will support the face to face event activities online via Twitter and LinkedIn, by highlighting five business areas: incentive and team building, corporate hospitality at major events, international associations, automotive industry and technology. The campaign will also incorporate the latest news from French destination partners via @CLUSTER_MICE Twitter account and Atout France – The France Tourism Development Agency LinkedIn page.
There will be opportunity for social media followers to actively participate in the campaign when The MICE Blog founder, Irina Trofimovskaya, will use her already hugely popular account @themicebloghq to run weekly Twitter chats between February and June. During the #BizinFrance campaign these Twitter chats, which run every Wednesday 2pm-3pm GMT, will discuss challenges and opportunities offered, not only in the event industry as a whole but specifically for international event planners who organise events in France. By using the #BizinFrance hashtag participants will be able to join the online discussion. Following each Twitter chat the insights from all participants will be shared on The MICE Blog’s website to offer educational articles for the event planning community. With over 9000 followers on The Mice Blog social media accounts Irina hopes to engage corporate event professionals to promote the benefits of holding events in France.
During IMEX Frankfurt 2017 event planners will be invited to visit Atout France stand and attend education sessions covering one of the five key industry topics. Some of the sessions confirmed include:
Tips for identifying the suitability of a destination for a car launch event
Corporate hospitality: How to use big sporting events to boost your marketing
Working with partner destination to offer added value to your association delegates
Jérôme Poulalier, manager France Meetings & Convention Board at Atout France said: “We decided to run this campaign because we want to stay in the mind of meeting planners and showcase the new projects that have been developed in France. Local actors are much more motivated and engaged to work together because of the challenging context that have been brought by negative media coverage.
We are witnessing how fast the MICE sector is getting more professional and organised locally. For example, new destinations, such as Nancy and Tours just formed new Convention Bureaux and Bordeaux is now in the minds of event planners because of increased number of flight connections”.
Irina Trofimovskaya, founder of The MICE Blog added: “I am excited to be part of this campaign and develop content together with Atout France because of the education and added value it will bring to event planners. Through the educational Twitter chats and live sessions at IMEX Frankfurt, we will be able to engage with international event professionals before, during and after the trade show, sharing expertise that will support them and inspire them.”
