Agency bookers in London and Manchester came to the UK’s first Norway Cool Agency Challenge events for two evenings of typical Norwegian fun, food, drink and latest information centred on the country’s appeal to the global incentives and events market.
Representatives from key incentives destinations, Bergen, Ålesund, Tromsø, Oslo, Stavanger joined key sectoral brands Thon and Hurtigruten to showcase the variety of experiences provided by the Norwegian market.
The London agents experienced a Norwegian-themed treasure hunt, The Green Hat Challenge, in Chelsea’s Physic Garden and the Manchester event at the UK’s longest indoor ski slope at Chill Factore tested the bookers’ moves on the artificial snow. Both events clearly whetted the appetite for the real thing!
Britt Gorniok of Visit Norway which brought the showcase to the UK, said: “Firstly we wanted to raise the profile of Norway in front of leading MICE agencies. We also want to educate them about our country and the Norwegian partner’s destinations.
“We wanted to create a platform to enable Norwegian partners to network with event organisers across the UK.”
