Events in Quebec City expected to generate $50m in economic spinoffs

Quebec City Convention Centre in Canada is expecting over 51,000 delegates at 66 events between now and the end of the year.

These delegates are expected to generate 53,000 room nights in hotels, and over $50m in economic spinoffs. This money will contribute to Quebec City’s restaurants, shops, businesses, cultural and tourist sites, service providers and more.

In the first quarter of the financial year, QCCC booked 116 events, including 41national and 10 international conferences. These are expected to bring 58,000 business tourists to Quebec City.

The Québec City Convention Centre’s mission is to attract and host conventions and major events. Its operations have significant economic benefits for the region while enhancing its national and international profile.

The Centre’s many distinctions include LEED Canada-CI, LEED-BE Silver, BOMA BEST Level 3, and AIPC Quality Standards Gold certifications. It was named World’s Best Convention Centre by AIPC in 2006 and was a finalist for the same award in 2014.
