The Long Beach Convention Center recently celebrated the expansion of its indoor/outdoor mezzanine space, The Cove, with a party for event planners.
The Cove is part of a $50m renovation project at the centre, aimed at creating event spaces for customised events and providing turnkey solutions.
The Cove is being marketed as a premier street party venue and will sit alongside The Wave, an immersive, state-of-the-art pedestrian bridge, also part of the convention centre.
Long Beach CVB president Stev Goodling has announced that a Silicon Calley company has already booked 6,000 rooms for May 2018 on the back of seeing the centre’s new event spaces.
Incorporating design techniques adopted from TED, a conference which called Long Beach home for five years, The Cove special event space occupies the area in front of the Seaside Meeting Rooms below the Terrace Theatre.
“We’re constantly rethinking our spaces and this is a venue unlike anything you’ll see at any other convention centre,” Goodling said.
