KEITH HERDMAN TO MAN THE HELM OF MCVB AS ACTING CEO

AUSTRALIA - Keith Herdman has been appointed the Acting CEO of the Melbourne Convention and Visitors Bureau (MCVB) following the departure of Sandra Chipchase.

The MCVB’s Chairman Chris Barlow made the announcement, adding: “The Board has every confidence in Keith’s ability to keep MCVB firmly focussed on the business at hand while the recruitment process is underway.”

Herdman has been part of MCVB’s Senior Management team since August 2006.

Chipchase announced her departure earlier this month and has joined New South Wales’ Government's new tourism body, Destination NSW.

AMERICAS - The Americas Incentive, Business Travel and Meetings Exhibition (AIBTM) has revealed a strong line-up of exhibitors for its 2014 event.

EUROPE - Amsterdam RAI posted a 2013 net profit of US$4.56m (2012: $2.9m). The venue management says the increased profits resulted from an exceptional conference year and growth in the RAI's international activities.
