KEITH HERDMAN TO MAN THE HELM OF MCVB AS ACTING CEO

AUSTRALIA - Keith Herdman has been appointed the Acting CEO of the Melbourne Convention and Visitors Bureau (MCVB) following the departure of Sandra Chipchase.

The MCVB’s Chairman Chris Barlow made the announcement, adding: “The Board has every confidence in Keith’s ability to keep MCVB firmly focussed on the business at hand while the recruitment process is underway.”

Herdman has been part of MCVB’s Senior Management team since August 2006.

Chipchase announced her departure earlier this month and has joined New South Wales’ Government's new tourism body, Destination NSW.

EUROPE - IMEX Chairman Ray Bloom welcomed visitors and exhibitors to IMEX 2013 in Messe Frankfurt, expecting a total of 14,000 international meetings professionals to attend over the three days of the show.

WORLD - ICCA President Arnaldo Nardone has announced that Kuching in Malaysia is the successful bidder for the 2016 ICCA Congress, which will attract 700 delegates to the destination.
