MIDDLE EAST - The first regional Facebook office will be opened at Dubai Internet City, according to an announcement by senior Facebook officials.

"Today is a very exciting day for Facebook. We are delighted to announce the opening of our first office in Dubai," says VP and MD for Facebook in Europe, Middle East and Africa, Joanna Shields.

The new office is aimed at engaging local businesses in making better use of Facebook as a marketing platform and reaching wider audiences, while continuing to improve the user experience.

"The opportunity for businesses and brands to interact and connect with this large online community is great and we are here to help unlock the marketing potential," says Head of Global Marketing Solutions, Facebook Middle East and North Africa, Jonathan Labin.
