Switzerland Tourism’s London chief heading Down Under

Livio Goetz, the current Head of the Switzerland Convention and Incentive Bureau (SCIB) in London, is heading for Sydney to take up the post of new Market Manager Australia/New Zealand for Switzerland Tourism (ST). Goetz will assume his new position in July.

Although the Australia, New Zealand and Oceania Region is small for Switzerland Tourism, it is nevertheless a key market with major potential.

In 2017, 365,000 hotel overnight stays were registered in Switzerland from the entire region, which represents growth of 13% compared with the previous year. By 2020, ST expects this figure to increase by up to 19%.

ST’s activities in Australia/New Zealand are primarily targeted at travellers aged over 50, who often spend several weeks in Europe, spending an average of CHF260 (US$264.8) per day in Switzerland.

Goetz will succeed Mark Wettstein in Sydney.
