The BestCities Global Alliance destination marketing consortium has released a Request for Proposal (RFP) to determine measurement indicators that will help evaluate the socio-economic legacy impacts of business events.
The alliance is requesting proposals from qualified consultants and the resultant RFP will build on existing commitments to the impact of business events, linking with various initiatives BestCities already has in practice – such as Incredible Impacts, Inspiring Young Leaders, and key outcomes from the annual Global Forum.
Paul Vallee, Managing Director of BestCities Global Alliance, said: “Legacy impact is gaining greater attention amongst destination and business event bodies, and stronger relevance in society in general. Although legacy impact has a broad reaching narrative on the true value of business events, few established indicators and measurement tools are in place.”
The Alliance is promising to create a how-to toolkit that will enable stakeholders to build knowledge and capacity, with learnings of the project to be shared with the BestCities networks, both within and outside the industry.
Deadline for proposals is 23 August for responses. The consultant will then be selected by 6 September. Details of the RFP can be viewed here.
