Beverly Nicholson-Doty joins Caribbean Tourism Organisation as Chair


AMERICAS – The Caribbean Tourism Organisation (CTO) has appointed a new Chair, Beverly Nicholson-Doty.
Nicholson-Doty, the Commissioner of Tourism for the United States Virgin Islands, was appointed on 11 October, at the CTO State of the Industry Conference in St Kitts.
Commissioner Nicholson-Doty, replaces Sen. Ricky Skerritt.
In keeping with the CTO constitution, Deputy Commissioner Chantal Figueroa has also been appointed by Commissioner Nicholson-Doty to head the CTO Board of Directors.
Five territories were represented in the Vice-Chair elections to serve on the Executive Committee of the Board of Directors. They are St Maarten, representing the Dutch Caribbean; Martinique representing the French Caribbean; St. Lucia and Trinidad and Tobago, representing the Caribbean Community countries and Bermuda representing the British Overseas Territories. They will join representatives from the private sector on the board.
The CTO, with headquarters in Barbados and marketing operations in New York, London and Toronto, is the Caribbean’s tourism development agency and has members representing 30 governments and a myriad of private sector entities.
