Malaysia’s Ministry of Tourism, Arts and Culture (MTAC) Sarawak and the Board of Directors (BOD) of Business Events Sarawak (BESarawak), a non-profit organisation aimed to improve the state’s events, have announced the appointment of Amelia Roziman (pictured) as the new CEO of BESarawak, 1 August 2021.
With more than 20 years of experience in branding and marketing and 15 years of experience in business events, MTAC Sarawak and BOD of BESarawak hope that Roziman’s appointment will positively promote Sarawak’s business events industry.
Sarawak’s ten-year Post Covid-19 Development Strategy (PCDS) 2030 is placing business events as a vehicle to promote economic prosperity, social inclusivity, and environmental sustainability. BESarawak’s will align its approach with the government’s aspirations and through the Legacy Impact of business events.
Roziman commented: “Being one of the contributors in developing the PCDS, including implementing the Legacy Impact, it has given me an amazing opportunity to integrate my personal and professional goals and take Sarawak to another level in developing this industry.” She added: “It is such an honour to be able to serve and work with a dynamic team in BESarawak. Thank you so much and I am looking forward to a long, new, and exciting journey. Together we can make a difference to our industry, state, country and ultimately, the world.”
