THAILAND – The biggest lifestyle and leisure complex in Southeast Asia, CentralWorld, is set to open on 28 September in Bangkok, with the Centara Grand and Bangkok Convention Centre organising a series of promotions to convey the message that Bangkok is back in business for business tourism.
“CentralWorld is at the heart of the Ratchaprasong district, the shopping centre of the city,” says Kobchai Chirathivat, president and CEO of Central Pattana, the company behind the deal.
“Confidence is returning quickly to Bangkok and to the Ratchaprasong district,” Kobchai Chirathivat adds.
Centara Grand is now planning special food and beverage promotions, spa packages and attractive discounts on rooms to coincide with the CentralWorld reopening.
“Our hotel and convention centre are already reporting high levels of occupancy and business, and this is going to increase with the reopening of CentralWorld,” says Gerd Steeb, president of Centara Hotels and Resorts.
A delegation of overseas travel buyers and media visited Centara Grand at CentralWorld in July courtesy of the Thailand Tourism Authority as the country tries to recover from the political turmoil earlier in the year.
