Evolve 2020 goes big on data with new keynote speaker announced

National association Meetings and Events Australia (MEA) has announced data management expert Simon Kuestenmacher as its latest keynote speaker at its Evolve 2020 industry event.

Kuestenmacher is co-founder and Director of The Demographics Group founded by social commentator Bernard Salt AM and in just three years has amassed 170,000 followers globally who enjoy his interpretation of data and his quirky observational style. He worked for several years as a business consultant with KPMG Australia. He frequently presents on Sky News, writes a monthly column in The Australian newspaper and consults to business and government.

MEA says Kuestenmacher will emphasise the importance of lifelong learning as the Australian economy is in a state of permanent transformation.

The keynote will focus on how the changing nature of the workforce allows for big growth opportunities in the events industry and what type of workers will succeed in the sector. He will also share how data will help to better target and market events.

Robyn Johnson, CEO of MEA comments: “Simon is the kind of person you want to talk to all day, he is engaging and has interesting insights into how the world economies are being transformed and what this looks like for Australia. We are extremely delighted to have him on the Evolve programme”.

Kuestenmacher joins Dr Catriona Wallace, Mitch Wallis and Captain Richard De Crespigny as part of the Evolve 2020 keynote programme with Shelly Horton as MC across the three days.

Evolve will be held at the Hunter Valley Crowne Plaza, 3–5 May 2020.
