Organisers of FIEXPO 2020, which had postponed the traditional June show this year until the end of November in Colombia, have now taken the decision to postpone again, until June 2021.
“As professionals passionate about what we do and fully convinced of the importance of our industry to all countries economically, culturally and in terms of human development, until now we had tried to hold the FIEXPO event in person,” the statement from FIEXPO Exhibitions Group said. “Unfortunately, due to government provisions regarding events, we are forced to postpone it for 7-9 June, 2021 in Cartagena, Colombia.
“These months have been full of uncertainties; a lot of efforts were made, and we worked hard looking for alternatives, studying protocols, re-designing spaces and analysing all the measures that needed to be implemented to ensure the health of all. The latter has always been a priority for us, and we take the task of protecting something as valuable as the safety of our collaborators, guests and exhibitors with great responsibility,” the statement continued.
“Today, the decision has been made, and although we feel that it is the best way of protecting everyone, we cannot help feeling some nostalgia; we miss the pre-event adrenaline and trips, but above all we miss physically meeting colleagues and friends from all over the world, friends that choose us every year in search of new contacts or to reinforce the existing ones, to learn from the outstanding professionals who share their knowledge at our meetings, while getting to know and enjoy the wonderful destinations that have welcomed us in all these years.
“For 12 uninterrupted years we met in June; now it is our turn to take care of ourselves and those around us.
“Fortunately, technology will enable us to somehow stay in touch, as it has done so far, and it will provide us with training and business opportunities in an online format.
“In the coming days we will be presenting VIRTUAL FIEXPO Latin America 2020, which will be held 25-27 November, as the point of departure for a New Era, where sustainability, flexibility and co-operation will be key.”
