Kenes ends year with a push into Iberian Peninsula

Global PCO Kenes Group has strengthened its position on the Iberian Peninsula with new offices opening in Lisbon and Seville.

Jaime Viegas (pictured) was recently appointed Country Manager & Business Development for the Lisbon Office of the group. He has been involved with Kenes Group since 2007 and, since 2017, has been the company’s official local representative.

Kenes said the opening of an office in Lisbon followed an expansion strategy, allowing the group to get closer to strategic markets such as Latin America, while also strengthening its European position.

The Spanish operation is growing with the opening of the Seville office, the third representative office in Spain after Madrid and Barcelona.

The Seville office is led by Maria del Mar Rodriguez and will house the new business travel service team of Kenes Group. The office will help the company expand both its destination management (DMC) and corporate services.

José María Ávila, VP Business Development for Iberia and LATAM at Kenes Group, commented: “Our presence in Portugal has been a fact for many years with the organisation of a number of congresses in the country. The political climate is stable, and the country’s economic growth is sustained. All these factors made it evident that we have to position ourselves better in the market.”

“It is very exciting to add one more office in Spain, in the beautiful city of Seville. We recognised the importance of developing our services and the addition of a BTC unit is vital to growing the DMC and corporate efforts in Spain and Latin America,” added Smara Iglesia, Managing Director of Kenes Spain.

Kenes Group finishes 2019 with 19 locations spread around in Switzerland, Israel, the Netherlands, Bulgaria, Germany, Portugal, Spain, Turkey, Thailand, Singapore, UAE, USA, Canada, and Mexico.
