Malaysia’s MITEC joins International Association of Convention Centres

The Malaysia International Trade & Exhibition Centre (MITEC) has joined the International Association of Convention Centres (AIPC) and will participate in the 13th Annual AIPC Sales and Marketing Summit, which is held in co-operation with IMEX in Frankfurt, Germany, 15-17 May.

MITEC CEO, Gunther Beissel, said: “Joining AIPC will further support MITEC’s growing reputation as a brand-new venue and in turn increase our clients’ confidence levels.”

AIPC president, Aloysius Arlando, noted that MITEC is well-geared to support the emerging metropolis precinct of Kuala Lumpur (KL), where it is located; and the strong growth potential of business events in KL in the coming years.

AIPC is a key industry association for professional convention and exhibition centre managers worldwide. AIPC is committed to encouraging and recognising excellence in convention centre management, while at the same time providing the tools to achieve high standards through its research, educational and networking programmes.

MITEC is also affiliated as a member of the International Congress and Convention Association (ICCA) and bears the UFI (Union des Foires Internationales/Union of International Fairs) approved label.

“AIPC, ICCA and UFI are excellent platforms for MITEC to expand our network, engaging and sharing best practices with industry colleagues within the associations’ family globally,” added Beissel.
