The programme of Megaron consists of classical music and opera, contemporary compositions, world music, music by younger composers, dance, theatre, cinema, visual arts and, of course, Greek music.

Conceived as a multifunctional cultural melting pot, Megaron is fully equipped to accommodate concerts and other musical events as well as conferences. A garden area of six acres was introduced to the public, being a meetings spot for amusement and cultural outdoor events since its opening.

At the same time, Megaron Plus, the multi-thematic dialogue and reflection programme hosts evening lectures where personalities from different fields present and debate topics of wide interest.

Megaron is a creative centre of cultural activity, learning opportunities, and social development; it is open to all and embraces diversity.

The Christos Lambrakis Hall is ideal for large-scale events. Its unique construction and ultra-modern technical facilities make it the perfect location for orchestral music, chamber music and ballet, as well as opera and theatre productions. The cream of the classical music world, including Greek musicians and major symphony orchestras and their famous conductors, have all graced this hall.

The Christos Lambrakis Hall houses the largest organ in the country. It was built by Klais Orgelbau, and contains a total of 6,080 pipes.  The Dimitris Mitropoulos Hall has outstanding state-of-the-art technical facilities, making it ideal for chamber music ensembles, recitals, dance productions and other cultural events, as well as for conferences.

The Alexandra Trianti Hall, which was added to the Megaron complex in 2004, provides ideal conditions for opera, ballet and other musical events. The richly decorated ground floor and hall foyers can also be used for large-scale exhibitions, either as part of the Megaron programme or as independent events. The two foyers also provide an ideal space for youth activities.

A sound recording centre, a three-level underground parking facility and Fuga, and the Megaron fine dining restaurant complete the Megaron experience.

Major luxury hotels are in close proximity, many within walking distance, and the Centre is close to major museums and fine shopping and dining areas.

The Athens metro system has a station next to the Centre and is 35 minutes away on a direct line to the Athens International Airport.
