PRA expands into Louisville

Business event management company PRA, which has 28 offices across North America, is to open an office in Louisville, Kentucky due to an expanding market there, according to Tony Lorenz, Chief Executive Officer.

PRA Louisville will specialise in event design, transportation solutions, entertainment, and a wide variety of interactive activities and experiences unique to the Louisville region.

The move follows a three-year period of rapid growth for PRA, including the recent acquisition of Koncept Events (now operating as PRA South Florida).

PRA has 350 full-time employees and thousands of contract employees and partners across the US and also acquired strategic, creative and production services agency One Smooth Stone in late 2018.

“PRA has been growing over the last few years especially through acquisitions as a significant lever, along with other organic growth initiatives,” said Lorenz. “As a new business, PRA Louisville is backed by PRA which provides significant capability out of the gate. Louisville, a city rich in culture, authenticity, and favorable trajectory, is a market we readily embrace as part of our broader growth story underway.”

Louisville attracts 16.4m visitors a year with its brand of Southern hospitality. Meetings, conventions and special events generate an estimated annual economic impact of US$3.5bn, which supports over 27,000 local tourism-related jobs.

The Kentucky International Convention Center recently underwent a $207m expansion and renovation resulting in more than 18,580sqm contiguous square feet of meeting space.

There is also a modern downtown arena and the city recently debuted the new 612-room Omni hotel.

Heading up the PRA Louisville team is Managing Director, Kayla Hadley, who has many years’ experience in the Louisville hospitality community. Danielle Bramblett will serve as Regional Sales Manager.

Jacqueline Marko will also support the Louisville office as Regional General Manager of PRA Nashville and Louisville offices.

“The Louisville market is quickly making a mark for companies and organisations seeking a distinct destination for meetings and events,” said Marko. “Downtown Louisville offers a varied blend of contemporary and classic experiences and venues which expand year after year. Our team is ready to help clients create outstanding business event programmes in this sought-after destination.”
