The city of Tampere in Finland is making a big splash in the world of smart city development and in January 2021 its Smart City Week will involve developers meeting with business leaders and citizens for a third time. This time the event will be held virtually, however, 22-29 January 2021.
Smart City Week organisers promise to showcase new solutions for the future with and after a pandemic.
The event will aim to present solutions to cities’ decision-makers, planners and developers and also to businesses.
“The pandemic is challenging us to find new solutions and to think about how we want to live in the future,” says Katri Schulze, the coordinator of Tampere Smart City Week from Business Tampere.
Tampere, says Schulze, is keen to make a name for itself globally as a flexible and smart city and offer its city region as a test platform for smart services.
