More than a million visit Messukeskus Helsinki in 2014

EUROPE – In 2014 the Messukeskus Helsinki venue attracted 1,146,090 visitors to meetings, congresses, corporate events and exhibitions. The visitor figure represented an increased of 40,000 on 2013.
 
Messukeskus made a bigger mark last year as a venue for corporate events, recording 1,543 meetings, congresses and other corporate meetings throughout the year. 
 
A hundred exhibitions, attracting 9,430 exhibitors came to the venue in the Finnish capital last year, including both the exhibitions and fairs organised by Messukeskus itself and events for which the premises were rented out to other event organisers.
 
Major congresses included the ITS Europe congress for intelligent transport systems and services, and the ISRRT 2014 world congress for Radiographers and Radiological Technologists. In October Messukeskus gathered European business leaders to the Nordic Business Forum, and in November start-ups and technology talents got together with investors and the media for Slush 2014.
 
Assembly, the biggest LAN event in Finland, was also hosted by Messukeskus in 2014, as well as the Summer Sound festival for electronic music.
 
“We strive to serve the Finnish business life and our one million visitors as well as possible. This year our focus is on developing digital services,” said Messukeskus managing director Anni Vepsäläinen.
 
Already this year Messukeskus Helsinki has hosted the MATKA Nordic Travel Fair, the largest travel event in northern Europe. It ran simultaneously with the Caravan Fair in January.
