Tablecrowd’s Kate Jackson makes Top 5 women in event technology list

WORLD – Event app provider myQaa has launched an initiative to recognise female leaders in the field of event technology and Kate Jacskon of Tablecrowd has made the jury’s list in the top five. myQaa points out that, although in the global meetings and events industry most professionals are women, most conference panels and company boards are predominantly male. The situation is more severe in the field of event technology, where the majority of workers are men. The sub-sector does have many talent women who are thriving and myQaa’s list puts a new spotlight on them. myQaa asked a jury panel of industry influencers to submit their nominations of women currently working in event technology companies and who have made an outstanding contribution to the advancement of women and the industry. The panel then chose its ‘Top 5 Women in Event Technology’: Julia Hartz, Eventbrite (US), Dahlia El Gazzar, The Meeting Pool (US), Kate Jackson, Tablecrowd (UK), Liz King, Techsy Talk (US) and Tahira Endean, Quickmobile (Canada). myQaa’s CEO Richad Mitha said: “I believe that, as major players in the event tech industry, we have a duty to promote gender balance. I hope that this group of positive role models will inspire women to join our sector and to achieve their career goals”. Carina Bauer, IMEX Group’s CEO and one of the jury members, said: “These women have been real pioneers in their fields and their businesses have been very specifically focussed on developing and introducing new technologies to the event sector. They were also all supportive of developing other women in their chosen sectors.” myQaa communications manager, Rosa Garriga Mora, will be speaking about this initiative at the upcoming MPI WEC conference in San Francisco. She added : “The fact that there is a session at WEC about women and leadership shows that this is a pressing issue”.
