Penguins, pademelons and Pink are set to welcome more conference and meeting delegates to Sydney with Business Events Sydney (BESydney) and Merlin Entertainments joining forces in a strategic partnership to promote the company’s unique venues and attractions. SEA LIFE Sydney Aquarium and WILD LIFE Sydney Zoo in the heart of Sydney’s entertainment precinct, Darling Harbour, will be the focus of the new strategic partnership. In addition to the engaging visitor experiences these attractions provide, event organisers can also host exclusive gala dinners, networking functions and one-on-one wildlife encounters in unique venues – delivering once-in-a-lifetime opportunities that will leave a lasting impact. “We are delighted to welcome Merlin Entertainments to our community of strategic partners,” said Hannah Jamieson, general manager external Relations, BESydney. “Our network of expert partners continue to work together to drive great benefit for the city. We especially value that Merlin Entertainments understands our business and immediately sees the value of this partnership to the city, our clients and delegates once they have hit the city. “Merlin Entertainments’ offering provide delegates and organisers alike a variety of exciting experiences right on the doorstep of the new International Convention Centre Sydney.” Rob Smith, divisional director for Merlin Entertainments Australia and New Zealand, said, “It was a no-brainer to increase our involvement with BESydney. The not-for-profit company has secured a pipeline of business events that will deliver some A$440m in direct expenditure for the city in the coming years. Merlin Entertainments will benefit from this and we are pleased to be a part of Sydney’s global promotion. I look forward to working closely with the BESydney team and creating memorable experiences for our city’s visitors.” With a worldwide presence across 23 countries Merlin Entertainments attracts over 60m guests every year.
