The Go Vilnius convention bureau, organisers of the Convene MICE show that takes place traditionally in February in the Lithuanian capital, have announced it will not go ahead in 2021. The decision was taken “in response to new opportunities in amongst all of the challenges brought on by the current global situation,” a bureau spokesperson told CMW. In the eight years of its existence, Convene had put Vilnius and the wider Baltic Sea region, on the MICE map as a world-class meetings and events destination. Head of the Go Vilnius convention bureau Vita Žilinskaite was optimistic that the present obstacles would be overcome and new opportunities would emerge, although she told CMW no digital version of the show was being planned for 2021.
