Cologne-based borabora studios, which specialises in creating immersive experiences and games for retail, events and permanent installations, has appointed Luis Uribe (pictured) as partner and design director. Uribe is a former art director at demodern and will be based out of Cologne and work across a client base including Samsung, Montblanc and BMW. Florian Woegerer, Founder, borabora studios, says: “Borabora may be a young studio but we have already worked with some of the world’s biggest brands including Disney, Porsche, Samsung and Skoda. We are over the moon at bringing Luis on as partner and design director. He’s a multi-awarded Mexican digital art director with plenty of experience with interface, CGI and VFX. We have history too. Luis and I had a lot of fun at demodern together, on brands like Cinepolis, Nike and Gatorade.” Uribe adds: “Success is not just about the destination, but the journey and the friends you make along the way. Working with familiar faces feels like coming home, and I’m pumped to see where this journey takes us.” borabora studios was founded in Cologne, Germany in 2021 and expanded its operation to the Catalonia capital, Barcelona, in 2023. borabora studios have created shows for Skoda in Lyon and Barcelona and museum installations for Disney in Philadelphia, London and Munich. They have also created an installation for the Porsche Tennis Cup at its flagship store in Stuttgart. Uribe and Woegerer were also behind several telecom installations at MWC over the years, when they previously worked at demodern.
