Destination DC announces new executive team

Four executives elevated to new roles. Destination DC promotes key leaders with decades of experience. Dianna Waldroup and Letizia Sirtori become vice-presidents, while Alex Gnafakis and Lindsay Hill advance to director positions. The promotions strengthen DC's position as a premier global destination.

Destination DC, official destination marketing organisation for Washington, DC, has announced key promotions at the executive team. Dianna Waldroup has been named vice-president of convention services and Letizia Sirtori has been appointed at vice-president of tourism and global development. Additionally, Alex Gnafakis has been promoted to senior creative director and Lindsay Hill has been promoted to director of visitor experience and group tours.

“I am so proud of the amazing team at DDC that focuses on our mission every day with integrity, mutual respect and admiration for each other,” said Elliott Ferguson II, president and CEO of DDC. “Dianna, Letizia, Alex and Lindsay are part of the world class senior leadership team that chooses to be a part of DDC and they play an integral role in promoting Washington, DC as one of the best destinations in the world.”

Dianna Waldroup

With over 35 years at DDC, Waldroup leads a dedicated hospitality team that provides critical support to meeting professionals, ensuring the successful execution of meetings and conventions of all sizes. Her new role will enhance customer experience and strengthen partnerships with local stakeholders.

Letizia Sirtori

In her 17-year tenure at DDC, Sirtori has seen success in the tourism sales and visitor experience department. She focuses on the tourism development of international markets and the creation of strategic relationships with airlines, corporations and other destinations.

Alex Gnafakis

Gnafakis has led DDC’s in-house creative team in the development of visual content. Gnafakis’ branding expertise guided the organisation through the development of the award-winning “There’s Only One DC” campaign.

Lindsay Hill

Joining DDC in 2012, Hill is the primary contact for all group tour operators and she leads the charge working with the student market. “I began as a coordinator, so the dedication that DDC puts into staff development is tremendous … From the eighth-grade field trip attendee dreaming of DC to helping schools craft trip itineraries, my position is a dream come true,” Hill said.
