Istanbul’s ACE of M.I.C.E. Exhibition by Turkish Airlines (AME), the first truly international MICE industry tradeshow in Turkey, which now has a seven-year history, is set to return, 28-30 June 2021, for its eighth edition at Istanbul Congress Center. Clearly, international visitors are advised to check country travel advisories and health regulations in this fast-changing landscape due to the pandemic, but organisers are focused on delivering a show in person.
The show gathers the industry’s stakeholders and has been an intensive networking platform able to facilitate more than 5,500 B2B meetings at the show between the industry professionals attending.
The hosted buyer programme has continued to grown and, alongside the ACE of M.I.C.E. exhibition this year, a Gastronomy Tourism fair will run in the open area of the venue, Istanbul Congress Center.
CMW asked caught up with Volkan Ataman (pictured), president of the organising company of AME, Tourism Media Group, who described how the show is shaping up in these unusual times:
“With the theme of Fit for Future and Connecting Dots, AME this year is preparing to increase the commercial volume of the sector while continuing to provide a unique MICE experience to sector professionals.
“Infinity Visiual Fx Studio is getting ready to captivate our visitors from the first step they take to the exhibition, as we welcome all to watch our Magical Hologramic Opening Show and be immersed in the concept of anti-gravity!
“We will be inviting visitors to the impressive environment of ACE of M.I.C.E. with special concept and experience areas also designed by our partners Infinity Visiual Fx Studio, as we prepare to enchant visitors from the outset.
Ensuring a safe exhibition area
“As at the AME Awards ceremony held on 4 September, 2020, high-level anti-pandemic measures will be meticulously carried out in the exhibition area. Our guests will be able to enter the exhibition using the HES code scanning system. Turnstiles with thermal cameras in the exhibition area will only be opened to guests whose temperature is below 38 degrees C and who are wearing masks. Masks and hygiene kits will be distributed to each guest and there will be constant checking in the area. In addition, Istanbul Congress Center-ICC has taken measures to ensure a modified special ventilation system.
Bringing professionals back together with B2B
“Within the scope of the international hosted buyer programme, international incentive companies, PCOs, DMCs and corporate buyers from abroad will participate in B2B meetings with the exhibitor companies at the show.
“Thanks to co-operation with an increasing number of international industry partners and media organisations for 2021, our participants will have the opportunity to expand their networks with the qualified hosted buyer programme.
“There is also a comprehensive communication strategy designed to enhance the positioning of the exhibition on the international MICE market. This has included expanding partnerships with media organisations and international MICE and event tourism associations.”
