The executive committee of Lviv City Council, in Ukraine, has announced that it has allocated 1m UAH (US$35,000) for a support package for national and international conferences held in Lviv. The support is an initiative from Lviv Convention Bureau (LCB), and aims to give “financial, expert and informational support for organisers of national and international conferences held in Lviv in 2021”. International and national associations and organisations that wish to hold conferences in Lviv in 2021 can apply to the fund. Out of the applicants, 40 will be selected and will be given 25,000 UAH (US$882) each. The fund can also supply proposals for renting conference halls and hotel accommodation from local businesses. The fund will also connect selected conferences with local businesses, organising site inspections and supplying a personal conference manager to liaise with local businesses and city authorities. Organisers will also get the opportunity to publish information about their conference on the LCB website and social networks and on the Lviv City Council website, as well as recommendations, checklists for planning and advice on holding events in Lviv from the LCB. Applications are open from 1 October to 30 November, with the selection results announced on the LCB and Lviv City Council websites in early December 2020. To apply for the fund, click here.
