Madrid, Making safe business a pleasure

Welcoming, lively, cosmopolitan, sustainable, reliable, and safe, Madrid is a leading city in the business tourism sector.  And the international awards it has received, including the Best MICE Destination 2020 at the World MICE Awards and Europe’s Leading Meetings & Conference Destination, only serve to reinforce this fact.
These recognitions are proof that the Spanish capital has been working tirelessly to secure its position as a MICE destination and its commitment to the sector.

Participating in events, always in compliance with health and safety measures, and sustainability are two of the strategic cornerstones that underpin the work by Madrid Convention Bureau (MCB), as the body that specialises in the promotion of the Spanish capital as a destination for conferences, events and meetings.

Its support for large-scale events that have a positive impact can be seen in innovative projects, such as #MadridMICE and the launch of the MICE Guide for Sustainability.
What’s more, its work in line with its commitment to the environment complies with the air quality and sustainability ordinance (OCAS) approved in 2021, with a view to reducing the negative impact of large events.

Large in-person events
Working tirelessly throughout this year, MCB has ensured the success of events held in the city, including FITUR, the first in-person international fair of 2021, Madrid Fusión, Mercedes Benz Fashion Week, Mutua Madrid Open, and HIP (Horeca Professional Expo 2021), among other important activities.

Not forgetting upcoming congresses that have already confirmed Madrid as their location, such as ESTRO 2021, at the end of August, by the European Society for Radiotherapy and Oncology and the World ATM Congress 2021, scheduled to be held in autumn.

A sector ready to take on new challenges
These endeavours would not be possible without the collaboration of the sector itself, which has responded to the challenges of current times and with which MCB has maintained close, constant contact by means of training courses and activities to promote its more than 200 affiliate companies.

It goes without saying that the professionalism, creativity, high standards and, above all, the passion and determination of these professionals, who take care of every last detail, and the city’s warm and welcoming citizens, are invaluable when it comes to ensuring the success of any business meeting in the capital.
MCB continues to create modern tools which it puts at the sector’s disposal on its website.

Premium infrastructure
Madrid is a city that never stops growing thanks to its expanding infrastructure.
Its wide range of hotels has seen many additions this year with the openings of new premium hotels, including Mandarin Oriental Ritz, Pestana CR7, Hard Rock Hotel Madrid, and Atocha Hotel Madrid Tapestry Collection by Hilton. This also paves the way for a 2022 in which many five-star hotels will open their doors for the first time.

These examples of state-of-the-art infrastructure will form part of Madrid’s unique and unrivalled offering. Thanks to its exceptional one-of-a-kind venues, its excellent location and internal transport connections, fabulous cultural and leisure offerings and, last but not least, wonderful climate, the Spanish capital makes doing safe business a pleasure.
