Sandy Bartelet joined the Maastricht Convention Bureau (MCB) as business development manager conventions on 2 November. The MCB is a foundation that promotes the Maastricht region as a convention destination. Barelet has previously worked for Starwood Hotels and Resorts Worldwide, and as a sales executive for business travel and corporate MICE at Hilton Worldwide. She has lived in Germany and the United States, and has studied at the Hotel Management School in Maastricht. “As a destination for conferences, the Maastricht region has a lot to offer. With all the developments surrounding the Brightlands Campuses, there are many new opportunities for Maastricht as a destination for scientific meetings,” said Barelet. “I am very much looking forward to making sure even more scientific conventions will be held and developed here in the Maastricht region together with my colleagues and in cooperation with the partners of the Maastricht Convention Bureau.”
