Eeva-Riitta Tuominen (pictured) has been appointed service and production director and member of the management team at Helsinki Expo and Convention Centre in Finland. She will take up the new role on 13 January, 2025.
Tuominen has extensive experience in service business management in the real estate and social and healthcare sectors and joins Helsinki Expo and Convention Centre from her position as business director at facilities management company ISS Palvelut Oy. As service and production director, she will be responsible for technical services, construction services, hall services, and graphic services at Helsinki Expo and Convention Centre as the venue becomes more customer-oriented.
“The service and production unit plays a significant role in supporting customers. I look forward to enhancing the customer experience and strengthening the Centre’s position as a trailblazer in the event industry,” Tuominen said.
“Eeva-Riitta Tuominen’s proven track record in customer management for B2B and B2C businesses, both in Finland and internationally, as well as her experience in developing solution-based sales, will furthermore enhance our ability to meet customer needs,” said Anni Vepsäläinen, CEO of Helsinki Expo and Convention Centre.
Guest events held at the venue include Slush, Nordic Business Forum, Assembly, the Finnish Kennel Club’s Dog Fair Finland, and numerous international congresses and corporate events each year. The facilities comprise seven halls, 40 flexible meeting rooms, 21 restaurants, and an on-site event hotel.
The Finnish Fair Corporation Group, which includes Helsinki Expo and Convention Centre, also comprises the trade show organiser Expomark Oy and the AV technology company SVV Oy. In 2023, the group reported revenue of €51.3m and generated an economic impact of €187m for its surrounding area.
