Singapore, Tokyo and Hong Kong lead APAC business travel in 2024
Singapore, Tokyo, Hong Kong, Bangkok and Kuala Lumpur are leading the way in business travel to Asia Pacific in 2024. Read on to learn which countries in APAC are most popular, as well as the top train routes and flight paths
The data comes from BCD Travel, which released its Cities & Trends 2025 Asia Pacific report – analysing business travel patterns based on 2024 flight and rail data across APAC markets.
Top APAC destinations for business travellers: Singapore saw a 20% increase in visits year-on-year, while Tokyo rose 38% to take second place. Sydney entered the top 10 for the first time.

BCD’s report notes the growing popularity of high-speed rail, driven by convenience and sustainability, particularly in China and Japan. Most APAC business flights remain economy class, while intercontinental travel is split evenly between economy and business class.
