In 2023, Visit Atlantic City and the Atlantic City Sports Commission in the US experienced one of their biggest years for events to date and is following up with an exciting calendar for Q1 2024. The destination launched its new branding and website and hosted several milestone events, including the 20th Visit Atlantic City Airshow, JJFISHWEEKAC and the US Open Pool Tournament. “2023 was a massive year for Atlantic City in both tourism and meetings and conventions,” said Larry Sieg, president and CEO of Visit Atlantic City and the Atlantic City Sports Commission. “The destination debuted THE HOOK, Spiegelworld’s first east coast entertainment residency; Borgata’s remodelled tower, MGM Tower; and the largest indoor beachfront waterpark in the world, Island Waterpark at Showboat Hotel. We’re carrying all of that momentum in 2024 by bringing new events into the destination that bolster Atlantic City’s position as a top destination for bleisure travellers.” Conventions and big events on the books in Quarter 1 include The Pool & Spa Show, which takes the plunge 23-25 January, 2024 at the Atlantic City Convention Center. Organisers are expecting the event to generate 11,000 attendees, 7,885 room nights and $11,527,389 in economic impact. The Alpha Kappa Alpha – North Atlantic Regional Conference 2024 takes place 8-11 February, 2024 and 5,410 attendees are expected to generate 3,780 room nights and $4,257,062 in economic impact. This year’s New Jersey Music Educators Association Conference will take place 22-24 February, 2024 at the Atlantic City Convention Center, and is expected to host 2,000 attendees, 954 room nights and generate $1,327,655 in economic impact. Six hundred law students hopeful to be admitted to the New Jersey Bar will sit for the New Jersey Bar Exam at the Atlantic City Convention Center 27-28 February. That event is worth $183,262 in local economic impact. As the one-stop shop for boats, boating accessories, and on-the-water adventures, the Discover Boating Atlantic City Boat Show will display hundreds of vessels 28 February–3 March. It is a show expected to attract 40,000 attendees and worth $8,514,613 in economic impact. The largest gathering of camp professionals in the world – The Tri-State Camp Conference – will take place 12-14 March, 2024 at the Atlantic City Convention Center, bringing a community of over 3,200 together to learn at over 160 educational sessions, find new products and services at their 300+ booth exhibit hall. The event is worth $2,602,217 in economic impact. A whole host of sporting events also back up the Q1 agenda in the destination, including in the fields of gymnastics, motor racing, basketball and boxing.
