AFRICA – Durban International Convention Centre has been voted ‘Africa’s leading meetings and conference centre’ at the World Travel Awards (WTA). The award was handed over at the annual Africa and Indian Ocean Gala ceremony at the Kempinski Seychelles Resort last week. This year marks the 22nd anniversary of the WTA, which aims to celebrate organisations pushing the boundaries of industry excellence. Other nominees in the category included Cape Town ICC, Sandton Convention Centre, Kenyatta ICC and the Cairo ICC. Lindiwe Rakharebe, Durban ICC chief executive, said: “I would like to express my sincere gratitude to all our clients for their unwavering support and for voting us Africa’s leading conference centre for the 14th time.
