Cvent brought together more than 450 event, marketing and hospitality professionals at Sofitel Sydney Wentworth for the fifth edition of Cvent Accelerate Sydney, a one-day conference for the region’s events and hospitality industry.
Across keynotes, panels and hands-on sessions led by 24 industry practitioners, the day focused on how AI and data are helping event teams track what happens after an event, connecting attendee interactions back to sales and business results rather than treating events as a one-off marketing spend.
The event also featured a guest session from Kris Fade, an Australian Lebanese broadcaster known for hosting The Kris Fade Show on Virgin Radio Dubai and for appearing on Netflix’s Dubai Bling. His talk, “The Art of the Hook: How to Capture Attention in a Distracted World”, covered how to build an audience and hold its attention across broadcast, social media and live events.
Jack Ukil, country head of Cvent Australia, said: “The conversation around events has fundamentally changed. In a world where AI can create almost anything, genuine human connection has become one of the most valuable assets a business has… Cvent Accelerate brought that shift to life, giving attendees practical examples of how AI and event technology work together to create measurable business outcomes.
Cvent Accelerate series continues in Frankfurt & Dubai on 10 September and 1 October 2026 respectively.
