Computational design conference comes to Penang in 2019

Penang, Malaysia has won a bid to host the upcoming International Congress and Conferences on Computational Design and Engineering (I3CDE) 2019. The event will take place from 7-10 July at ParkRoyal Penang Resort, the first time the Korean-owned congress has taken place outside its home country. The event is organised by the Society for Computational Design and Engineering from Korea, and will attract international experts in various field to discuss major issues and solutions. The congress themes span from traditional computational design in all industrial areas to issues such as big data and deep learning. Ashwin Gunasekeran, CEO of the Penang Convention & Exhibition Bureau, commented: “We are proud to welcome the upcoming I3CDE congress to Penang as the state is known as the Silicon Valley of the East for its industry, and is one of Malaysia’s most vital economic powerhouses. YB Yeoh, Penang State Exco for Tourism Development, Heritage, Culture & Arts, added: “We are always looking to expand and improve on the Information Technology industry. “I hope that this congress will spark the growth in research in this field, and that the connections made through the network of experts will benefit both Malaysians and the international community.”
