Global provider of Kontactless Smart Event technologies, Konduko, was the big winner at the UK-organised Event Technology Awards (ETA) 2020’s virtual ceremony taking home – or staying at home with – three: Best use of Technology for Engagement & Interaction (B2B), Best use of Wireless Technology and Best Exhibition Technology. ICC Belfast won the ‘Most innovative and tech-friendly venue’ category and Dave Young, head of production commented: “Being named the winner in this year’s Event Technology Awards is an incredible achievement for our team. We pivoted our business to strategically respond to the need for hybrid event solutions by launching our Hybrid Studio in June. Since then, we have hosted fantastic events including the STATSports product launch and the INVENT 2020 awards. Our aim is to deliver something more than just a live stream, we want to create fully immersive and interactive events.” Charlie McCloskey, the venue’s head of events and customer experience added: “Clients’ needs are evolving and as Northern Ireland’s only purpose-built international convention centre, our team want to remain at the forefront of innovation to ensure that expectations are not only met but exceeded.” This year’s digital only ceremony meant there was a bigger international audience watching the event, which was managed by hosts UK-based James Dickson and ETA co-founder Adam Parry. A total of 25 gongs changed hands, with UK-based event management software specialist Shocklogic winning the People’s Choice Award’s Gold prize and US-based Socio securing the Best Startup title.
