The Melbourne Convention Bureau (MCB) has launched an interactive e-guide, designed to demonstrate the city’s new experiences to event planners and delegates. The MCB said the e-guide aimed to showcase the city as a coveted destination for domestic and international conferences. MCB chief executive, Julia Swanson, said the e-guide was developed following audience research, “taking into consideration user experience, best practice, and event planners’ and delegates’ desires for short and inspiring content”. “Event owners, planners and attendees can plan their trip and activities by using the geographic and category searchable interactive map embedded within the guide,” Swanson added, explaining that the tool also allows users to create custom conference and event participant tours following their arrival in Melbourne. Tourism Australia supported the project via its Business Events Advance Programme, which partners with the industry on activity that aims to increase the number and value of international business events for Australia. The Melbourne e-guide can be found here.
