Salt Lake City-based travel and event management company M-Plus Global Events has acquired group incentives specialist company IME Connect of Parsippany, New Jersey, USA. IME will operate as a separate business unit, and IME Connect’s president, Steve Some, will continue in his role. The deal will expand IME’s buying power, said Some. The acquisition of IME Connect follows the merger of A-Plus Meetings & Events and Columbus Travel into M-Plus Global Events earlier in 2022. David Simmons, chairman of M-Plus Global Events described the deal as “a mutual win for both companies”. He added: “We were drawn to IME Connect due to their position as an industry leader, their strong value proposition and impeccable reputation that characterises their company today. This move is a mutual win for both companies.” Steve Some commented: “We’re excited about this opportunity to join the M-Plus Global Events team. This partnership allows us to further expand our buying power while maintaining our personal commitment, exemplary service and integrity to our clients and our team.” Combined annual sales for M-Plus Global is believed to be around tops $200m while the company manages around 300 events globally each year. The company has roots dating back over 70 years. Its operating businesses include Morris Meetings & Incentives, Miami-based A-Plus Meetings & Incentives, Morris Columbus Travel, Morris Murdock Escorted Tours and Black Pearl Luxury Travel Services. The company also owns interests in Kansas City-based ADI Meetings & Events, and Boise-based TMN Events.
