The Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) has officially launched TAT Connex, an influencer marketing platform as a new means of promoting tourism. The platform welcomes categories of local and international key opinion leaders (KOLs), influencers, bloggers, media figures and celebrities to connect with tourism-related businesses. These include: restaurants, accommodation, transportation, tourist attractions, travel agencies, health and beauty, department stores, meetings, entertainment and souvenir shops. The platform will make it possible for businesses to create partnerships with influencers in different markets and connect with new customer bases. TAT Connex enables users to view real-time campaign tracking and data analysis, so they can directly see the fruits of their efforts. As part of the launch, a panel discussion was held on the topic ‘The Power of Influencer Marketing toward Tourism Industry’. Speakers were Dr. Penpisut Jintasophon, secretary to the minister of tourism and sports, Variya Lulitanond, director of marketing for Thailand, Cambodia, and Myanmar at Marriott International, and Chermawee Suwanpanuchoke, actress and travel influencer. The launch event also featured a practical workshop on how to use the TAT Connex platform, catering to both influencers and business operators in attendance. Thapanee Kiatphaibool, TAT governor, said: “TAT has created TAT Connex as a courtesy for Thai tourism businesses to increase brand visibility, while inspiring more travel and stimulating higher tourism spending at destinations across the country. “TAT is committed to boosting tourism in tandem with the government’s ‘Ignite Thailand’s Tourism’ vision. The TAT Connex platform will undoubtedly become an effective tool for Thai tourism businesses and will help stimulate more travel to destinations across Thailand.” TAT Connex is available in Thai and English and is free of charge for all users. More information is available via the website www.tatconnex.com.
