ITB Asia 2025 opened today at the Sands Expo and Convention Centre, marking the largest edition in the event’s 18-year history. Organised by Messe Berlin (Asia Pacific), the three-day show runs from 15-17 October and brings together exhibitors, senior decision-makers, and buyers from across the corporate, leisure, MICE, hospitality and travel-tech sectors.

For the first time, ITB Asia spans five exhibition halls across two levels, expanding from three in 2024. More than 1,500 top buyers are attending – a 7% rise on last year – with exhibitors representing every continent. Ninety-six tourism organisations and convention bureaus are taking part, including the largest-ever African delegation and new representation from Central Asia and Indian state boards. European participation has increased by 67% year on year.

The event was formally opened by Alvin Tan, minister of state for Trade and Industry and National Development, who officiated a ribbon-cutting ceremony. David Ruetz, senior vice-president at Messe Berlin, said ITB Asia’s growth reflects the global travel industry’s momentum and the Asia-Pacific region’s expanding influence.

Running alongside the exhibition, the ITB Asia Conference delivers more than 4,500 minutes of sessions across three tracks – Knowledge Theatre, MICE Show Asia, and Travel Tech Asia – under the theme “Future Forward: Transforming Travel & Tourism in a Changing World.”

More than 160 speakers are scheduled, including Michael Shoory, head of APAC Tourism Analysis at Tourism Economics, and Nick Lim, CEO (Asia) of The Travel Corporation.

Industry partners include the Adventure Travel Trade Association, Global Sustainable Tourism Council, Meeting Professionals International, Society for Incentive Travel Excellence, and Tourism Economics.
