Luisiana’s Shreveport Downtown Development Authority (DDA) and Visit Shreveport-Bossier are launching a ninitiative designed to connect conference attendees with downtown Shreveport businesses and all they need is their event badge.

The Show Me Your Badge programme encourages attendees to explore the downtown district while supporting local restaurants, shops, and entertainment venues. Visitors simply present their event or conference badge at participating businesses to receive a special discount, promotion, or offer.

During 26-29 March, nearly 6,000 members of the Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. will be in Shreveport-Bossier for the 94th South Central Regional Conference. This city-wide event will see the launch to the programme, as it creates a streamlined way for businesses to capture additional traffic and highlight unique experiences downtown.

“Downtown Shreveport plays a critical role in shaping visitors’ experiences when they come to our city,” said Cedric B. Glover, executive director of the Downtown Development Authority. “The Show Me Your Badge programme is a welcoming gesture that highlights downtown while helping our community benefit from the thousands of visitors in our district.”

“A goal of Visit Shreveport-Bossier’s Destination Master Plan is to develop a unified Convention Center District to provide a dynamic meeting and convention attendee experience,” said Stacy Brown, president & CEO of Visit Shreveport-Bossier. “Programmes like Show Me Your Badge help extend the visitor experience beyond the convention centre and into the heart of downtown, allowing our guests to discover the incredible businesses, food, and culture that make our community special.”

Participation in the programme is free for local businesses, and participating locations will be featured on promotional materials and the Show Me Your Badge website
