Portland, Oregon-based Opus Agency has launched Outrun Ordinary, a new brand identity and positioning.

The agency believes event formats have become repetitive and audiences expect more now from live experiences. The new branding comes as events take a larger role in marketing, while AI and new tools change how experiences are designed – all increasing pressure on organisers to prove clear business results.

The agency says the new platform responds to that shift. It positions “ordinary” events as a risk rather than a safe option.

The new identity includes a redesigned website and introduces a new colour palette. At the centre is the “O” symbol which the agency says adapts across formats.

Chief creative officer Caryn Mambro said: “Bold, expressive, fearless. Those three words drove every decision in this system. The fact that it came entirely from our own people, from initial strategy through final execution, makes it mean more. It carries the heartbeat of who we actually are.”

The launch follows recent investment in parent company The Opus Group, by EagleTree Capital earlier this year.

Opus Agency has also expanded in EMEA. It acquired UK-based creative events agency Wave as part of that growth.

The agency now employs more than 450 staff, with teams based in Portland, London, Sydney and Singapore.

Opus Agency president Dena Lowery said: “We are a global agency operating across AMER, EMEA, and APAC, managing thousands of client programs and relationships. For that to work, there must be a shared mission. Whether you encounter Opus Agency in Chicago, Melbourne, Bengaluru, Paris, or Dubai, you should feel that same clarity and ambition. Outrun Ordinary gives us that throughline. The industry is at an inflection point, and this is how we’re showing up to it.”
