Rio Las Vegas has announced it is waiving resort fees for all group business, becoming the first property in the Las Vegas market to eliminate this longstanding cost friction for meeting and event planners. The move is effective immediately, applies to any booking year, and has no end date.

Resort fees can add $50, or more, per room, per night to a group’s overall costs and have long been cited by planners as one of the most frustrating elements of hotel contracting.

As part of the broader group promotion, Rio Las Vegas is also offering complimentary internet in all meeting spaces, 20% discount on AV, provided by Encore, double Hyatt Meeting Planner loyalty points an10% discount on food and beverage, as well a complimentary room deals depending on numbers booked.

The promotion is open to new group business of 10 or more attendees for midweek dates (Sunday through Thursday).

“Planners have told us for years that resort fees are one of the most exhausting parts of contracting in Las Vegas. They complicate budgets and create doubt at exactly the wrong moment. We want Rio to be the easiest ‘yes’ in this market, and that means being upfront about value from day one,” said Ashley Lowe, senior vice-president of sales at Rio Las Vegas. “We initially soft-launched this waiver for 2026 and 2027 groups and the response was immediately overwhelmingly positive, so we decided to extend it to all years.”

Rio Las Vegas boasts more than 200,000 square feet (18,580sqm) of flexible indoor meeting space and 500,000 square feet of outdoor space. For more information about Rio Las Vegas and its meeting capabilities, visit www.riolasvegas.com
