AccorHotels UK & Ireland has announced it will host the eighth annual Global Meeting Exchange (GME) in Switzerland, 26-30 March 2019.
With 160 anticipated client attendees, including 50 participating hotels, AccorHotels expects 2019 to be GME’s biggest year yet.
The global MICE event is AccorHotels’ proprietary forum for global account buyers and hoteliers in the meetings and events business. Held over the course of three days, the programme will facilitate business opportunities through pre-arranged meetings between hotels and buyers, ranging from corporate meeting planners to M&E agents.
GME 2019 will also offer educational seminars delivered by both external industry experts and senior AccorHotels’ representatives. Panel sessions will debate key topics affecting the industry, and extensive teambuilding and networking opportunities will take place throughout the programme.
This year’s edition of the GME was held in February at The Fairmont Queen Elizabeth in Montreal. The 2018 event drew149 clients and 58 hotels who met for over 4,000 one-to-one meetings in total.
Dana Lewis (pictured), Director or Meetings, Events and Leisure, AccorHotels UK, commented: “AccorHotels is in fact the only major hotel chain to arrange an event to such a large scale which makes GME quite unique, so we’re absolutely thrilled to see the programme return in 2019 for its eighth consecutive year. We’re excited to welcome back previous attendees, and are keen to meet new faces at what will certainly be a high energy, informative and collaborative three-day conference.”
