Abu Dhabi National Exhibitions Company – (ADNEC) is marking the 10th anniversary of its ownership of ExCeL London. ADNEC made the acquisition in May 2008. The same year it started the Phase 2 construction and London’s ICC, completed in 2010. In 2009 the venue hosted the G20 Summit and was a host venue for the London 2012 Olympics. In 2015 ADNEC invested £15m in the catering experience at ExCeL and the following year opened CentrEd at ExCeL, a £1.5m, meeting and training venue alongside Royal Victoria Dock. Over the years 39 delegates from ADNEC have been to London to share knowledge, skills and best practice. Humaid Matar Al Dhaheri, Group CEO of Abu Dhabi National Exhibitions Company (ADNEC) said: “It has been ten fruitful years since ADNEC’s acquisition of ExCeL London and we are on a continued mission to maintain the excellence in our services, encourage more partnerships, reward creativity and pursue excellence in the business tourism sector.” Jeremy Rees, acting CEO, ExCeL London, who took over following the abrupt departure of former ExCeL London CEO David Pegler in November 2017, commented: “We are delighted to be celebrating 10-years of collaboration and partnership with ADNEC. It is thanks to their continued investment, support and vision, that ExCeL and London have been able to achieve such success.”
