Adobe pulls Bangkok launch

ASIA – An international software company has postponed an event to mark the release of a cloud-based service in the wake of the fatal bombing in Bangkok. Creative Cloud Events, part of the giant Adobe group, will reschedule the Create Now 2015 event. The firm has posted a notice on the event website apologising for the inconvenience to delegates, who were due to meet on 20August at the Renaissance Bangkok Ratchaprasong Hotel. The notice reads: “Due to the recent explosion in the Ratchaprasong area, and the volatile situation in Bangkok, the Create Now 2015 – Bangkok event (20 Aug) has been postponed until further notice. We apologise for any inconvenience caused, and will update all confirmed registrants via email.” Thailand’s chief of police has said that he bomb attack that killed 20 people at Bangkok’s Erawan shrine on Monday was carried out by a “network”. The Hindu shrine reopened today. The Thailand Convention & Exhibition Bureau has advised international event organisers that the capital remains open for meetings and events business. A spokesperson said: “International stakeholders are advised that Thailand’s MICE industry continues to operate as normal, and all public and private sector stakeholders are working together to monitor the situation. All hotels, venues and attractions are open and ready to welcome travellers. Transportation links, major roads and airports continue to operate, including Bangkok’s BTS Skytrain and MRT services and both Don Muang and Suvarnabhumi International Airports.”
