Joanna Darek has been appointed Managing Director of London staffing agency TempTribe. TempTribe is a temporary staffing agency supporting the hospitality and live events sector. Darek has been with the business for over five years and has been promoted to take the lead after former Managing Director and Founder Duncan Mitchell formally stepped down. Mitchell, who founded the business in 2007, will focus on building his venture-backed technology start-up Gameplan. He company stated that Darek, who is also currently completing an MBA program at Imperial College, was the natural successor for the role. Mitchell commented: “Jo has been instrumental in driving the business forward for a number of years now. In the last 18 months we have worked closely together to prepare for the transition. We both felt that the time was right for a change as we head into the new decade!” “At TempTribe we believe that our strong focus on personalised account management sets us apart from our competition. I have every confidence that Jo is the right person to continue that tradition as she takes on this big challenge.” Joanna began her career with TempTribe as a Junior Account Manager and worked her way into the Account Director role. In that capacity she has been overseeing approximately 600 accounts for the business. This has included five-star hotels such as The Savoy and The Ritz, as well as a host of global brand names from Virgin to Sothebys. Joanna Darek said: “I’m entering the role at an exciting time for the agency. We’ve been building out our technology and diversifying the portfolio with a host of new clients. 2020 is going to be another busy year for us and I’m looking forward to leading the team through it.
