EUROPE – The International Association of Congress Centres (AIPC) 2012 Annual Conference has kicked off in Amsterdam.
Hosted at the Amsterdam RAI, between 2 and 4 July, the event is expected to attract over 200 delegates representing major venues worldwide.
Speaking at the opening of the event, AIPC President Edgar Hirt said: “We are meeting during challenging times for our economy as a whole. Our clients are placing a premium on value and professionalism to support their ever more complex projects.
“Convention centres have a huge responsibility to support and grow a fragile economy.”
The event will look at topics including global industry status and prospects, how meetings are evolving and what clients really want.
The association will also hold its 54th General Assembly and report on AIPC’s financial figures.
