American Express Global Business Travel appoints new VP and GM in Canada

AMERICAS - Travel agency American Express Global Business Travel has appointed Colin Temple as its VP and GM of Global Business Travel in Canada.

AMERICAS – Travel agency American Express Global Business Travel has appointed Colin Temple as its VP and GM of Global Business Travel in Canada.
 
Temple will report to Tom Bligh, Senior VP and GM of the Americas.

A 20-year veteran of American Express, Temple has held several executive positions in the UK, US and Canada. Prior to his new role, he served as Head of American Express’ Merchant Services Business in Canada, where he was responsible for record results in account retention and new merchant signings. Temple has also held a number of external board positions including the San Diego Convention and Visitors Bureau and LA Inc.

“The Canadian market is a critical one for American Express Global Business Travel where we provide innovative and dynamic solutions to customers with local and global business needs,” says Bligh.

Temple will continue to be based in Toronto and will officially assume his new role on 2 January 2013.

American Express Global Business Travel is part of one of the world’s largest travel agency networks with locations in over 140 countries worldwide. The total travel sales volume processed in 2011 was US$29.3bn, including consolidated volume and non-consolidated volume processed through joint ventures and its partner network.
