EUROPE – Anthony Floreano is to become new Managing Director of Freeman UK as part of a shake-up at the international event contracting giant.
The American is relocating to the UK following seven years’ service with Freeman. He started as a General Manager with the firm before moving to the role of Vice President/General Manager and then Chief Operating Officer.
Back in 2007, he was appointed General Manager for Freeman’s Boston office and has more than two decades of event industry experience.
Floreano previously worked at GES from 2005 to 2007 and has also worked as the Assistant General Manager for the Hynes Convention Center in Boston.
In the Freeman board shake-up, David Walley will move to a non-executive chairman role.
Freeman UK opened its regional EMEA headquarters near Coventry on 9 June, consolidating its eight UK offices into the new 15,800sqm facility, which houses 275 employees.
The 1,900sqm office facility houses sales, operations, marketing, HR, finance and management, with additional features including a 13,900sqm purpose-built warehouse.
It has been a busy time for the US contracting giant. It bought the SO Group in March 2013, after the UK contractor went into administration. The deal saw the business and assets of SO Group, and its subsidiary 360 Creative Event Services, incorporated into the Freeman family of brands.
